Overview

This is how the URL Switch skill and the switches you create typically work:

1. Log in to www.virtualsmarthome.xyz/url_switch and log in using your Amazon Account.
2. Create your switches.
3. Activate the URL Switch skill in your Alexa app and log on using your Amazon Account.
4. All switches you previously defined will be discovered as switches (power controllers) in Alexa.
5. Whenever you turn on a switch in Alexa, the URL you provided here will be called. Whenever you turn a switch off in Alexa, the switch off URL will be provided.

You can use these switches also in Alexa routines.

The URLs you use have to be public domain names or public IP addresses.
