Overview

Once you logged in to www.virtualsmarthome.xyz/url_switch and activated the URL Switch Alexa skill, you are ready to create the first URL Switches.

Step-by-step guide

Please follow these steps to create your URL Switches:

1. Provide a name for your switch. This name will be used for the smart home device that will be added to your Alexa account. The type of the device will be a power controller.
2. Next, provide a URL that will be called when you turn on the switch in Alexa. You can choose if the URL will be called using HTTP GET or HTTP POST. If you do not know the difference, use HTTP GET.
3. If you do not want anything to happen when the switch is turned on, you can choose do nothing.
4. Next, you can provide another URL that will be called when you turn off the switch in Alexa. Again, you can choose do nothing.
